Opening Ceremony

Opening Ceremony

we started the new year with the most technically demanding event in the agency’s history, furthermore, it was our first time to use the brand new Adamson E12 PA system

This year, the west-bohemian metropolis became the holder of the prestigious European Capital of Culture 2015 title, together with Belgian Mons. After many years of preparations, the anticipated official opening ceremony was here, big style, and it started a year full of European culture in Pilsen.

For this first and most important event of the year, the artistic director Petr Forman chose an unorthodox mix of concerts, videomapping, new cirque and many dramatic elements right on the Republiky square. An hour long show was preceded by organized parades that brought tens of thousands of visitors into the streets and the square.

Under our technical production, a 60metre catwalk with trampolines, HD roofing with show lights and stage decks used partially as a screens were built. We took care of many stage installations for VIP stands and stairheads, rigging for projectors, special effects or catwalk, church and other places lighting, including the rope for the acrobat David Dimitri who crossed the square in more than 50metre height.

The complicated sound system was a story of its own. It consisted of three main PA systems (the premiere of the brand new Adamson E12 system with the currently best subbass on the market – Adamson E219 in Czech production), and seven areal Adamson Spektrix stacks along the square. All of those were connected and controlled by the Dante system with Lake processing using optical fibres. This unique soundsystem allowed, apart from standard concert shows, for a custom composition by Marek Ivanovič accompanied by musicians playing from windows in the square.
